Burns Monument update

The Burns Monument is now shrouded in scaffolding, to enable conservation specialists to carry out a detailed inspection. 

 

Conservation Architect, Alan Marshall, removes asphalt from the roof to discover a beautifully crafted leaf motif below the inappropriate modern repairs.
 


The beautifully uncovered original roof on the Burns Monument on Regent Road.  The restoration is to be complete ahead of this summers major Homecoming Scotland events.
