National Monument under repairOn 18 November the delicate operation to re-position one of the enormous stone lintels on top of the National Monument was successfully completed.

The Craigleith stone weighs the equivalent of around ten small cars and was originally transported four miles from the quarry and levered into position through the use of a wooden scaffold, seventy men and twelve horses.
