Well Court gets its bling Following a successful appeal for donations, the clock faces and weathercock at Well Court have now been re-gilded, completing one of the finishing touches to this major conservation project.
The clock faces and weathercock are prominent features on the tower at Well Court, thought to have been inspired by the 17th century Earl's Palace in Kirkwall. The re-gilding has been possible thanks to generous donations from the Inches Carr Trust, the Blythe Family Trust and Ritchies Clockmakers.
The extensive restoration of this category A listed building is now almost complete, with just the re-laying of the courtyard in sandstone setts yet to be finished.
