Paint Analysis

Analysis was undertaken to determine the paint history of the shopfronts and to help in the final choice of colours. The stonework of all the shopfronts was painted in the same shade to keep a uniform feel to the street, while windows and doors of each shopfront were painted with individual colours.

Painting of masonry: one coat of primer for powdery and friable surfaces; one coat of masonry paint / and two finiching coats of masonry paint. Indicative cost = £942.50 for 65 m² + 65 m.

Painting of glazed windows and screens: one coat of metal primer forany metal element / one coat of exterior primer / two coats of exterior undercoat / and one coat of exterior gloss. Indicative cost = £416.50 for 49m².

Painting of glazed doors and panelled door: one coat of metal primer for any metal element / one coat of exterior primer / two coats of exterior undercoat / and one coat of exterior gloss. Cost of glazed doors painting = £96 for 12 m². Indicative cost of panelled door painting = £22 for 4 m².

Painting of railing, window platforms, balustrades and gate: one coat of metal primer / two coats of undercoat / and two coats of exterior gloss. Cost of railing, balustrades and gate painting = £1027 for 79 m². Indicative cost of window platforms painting = £572 for 44 m².
