Thermal imaging the World Heritage Site

How energy efficient is your house?

Oct 22, 2010

Do you live in the World Heritage Site? Would you like to know where heat is lost from your home?

A thermal imaging camera reveals heat leaking and therefore where your house might need insulation to save you energy and money. This photo of a B-Listed Georgian tenement in Lauriston Place clearly shows in red the windows where heat is being lost.

From 9 until 13 November, Edinburgh World Heritage will be taking free thermal imaging surveys of buildings around the World Heritage Site. We will be able to offer you a free survey, which would usually be worth around £100 through a private company.

The cold has arrived, and we would also like to hear your story: how do you heat up your home and which challenges are you facing? We will be able to give you some advice and take another thermal shot after a couple of months to see if there is any change.

If you live in the World Heritage Site and would like to have a thermal image of your home, please contact chiararonchini@ewht.org.uk. We will be able to offer this service on the first-come, first served-basis and only on these limited dates.
