Bondi Brenda and the Heritage Detectives

Catch the world’s worst tour guide on Doors Open Day at the historic Simpson House.

Sep 21, 2011

In May and June this year, the ‘Heritage Detectives’ project brought together a group of young people to investigate the history of Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site. The project was a partnership between Edinburgh World Heritage, Circle Scotland and Daisychain Associates, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund through the Young Roots scheme, and the Making a Splash! programme run by Voluntary Arts Scotland.

Circle Scotland provide community based support for marginalised children and families, working to improve opportunities for disadvantaged families, and those with children at risk of school exclusion, experiencing neglect or affected by parental drug or alcohol use.

The group’s experiences have now been brought together in a short performance for Doors Open Day, with some of the young people acting or working back stage.
