EWH Financial Trustee Appointment

EWH is seeking a suitably experienced accountant to join the board of Trustees.

Aug 3, 2012

Edinburgh World Heritage (EWH) is a charitable organisation responsible for conserving and promoting the interests and the Outstanding Universal Value of Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site, which includes the Old and New Towns (map of area on website). Formed in 1999, it coordinates the management of the site through a management plan, and its key areas of operation are education, repair and influencing decision making. It has the strong support of the Scottish Government, through Historic Scotland, and the City of Edinburgh Council.

EWH’s board is responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation and stewardship of public and charitably given funds.  It requires the energetic input of trustees who are able to support and add value to the work of its small professional team. It is currently seeking a suitably experienced, qualified accountant, who will chair the Finance and General Purposes Committee and oversee the general financial function, helping to drive the organisation in this challenging financial climate toward the aims outlined in its five year Business Plan. Experience with charity finance is desirable.

Candidates would benefit from an interest in the architectural heritage and streetscape of Edinburgh.  They should also bring innovative thinking, drive and enthusiasm to support the future development of the organisation. This is a non-remunerated post and will require an active commitment.  Reasonable expenses will be paid. The new trustee will be given an induction to the organisation.

An application form, covering letter explaining your interest in the post and CV, should be sent in confidence to:
