Old Town Doorway

Carved stone lintels above doors in Advocate's Close.

Carved inscriptions can be seen above many doorways in the Old Town, often with biblical references. These examples in Advocate's Close date to the end of the sixteenth century, and commemorate the building's owner Clement Corr and his wife Helen Bellenden.
