World Heritage Site Management Plan Consultation

A draft management plan for Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site is now out for consultation.

Sep 28, 2010

The first management plan was launched in July 2005, and in the UK it is considered good practice to carry out a review every five years. The plan provides a framework for the conservation and enhancement of the site, and an overview of the challenges, objectives and actions for the key partners and other stakeholders in the future management of the World Heritage Site

Views on the content of the draft Management Plan are important, particularly on the way Edinburgh’s key historic values are interpreted (the Statement of Outstanding Universal Value); the vision, whether the objectives and actions are appropriate and achievable and whether the proposed management structure is appropriate.
