Edinburgh World Heritage at Green Festivals

EWH has been displaying energy efficiency projects at festivals around Scotland.

Sep 28, 2010

In July Chiara Ronchini EWH energy efficiency officer together with an intern, Genevieve Rodrigue, launched the Green Map for Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site at the Big Tent 2010, one of the largest environmental festivals in Scotland.

Over two hundred people visited EWH’s stall and pledged to save over 12 tonnes of CO2 emissions. On the opening of the three day festival, Chiara also presented EWH sustainable heritage projects at the Climate Champion Panel and participated in the debates with the community groups.

Early in September, EWH green activities were also displayed at the Start Festival in St. Andrew Square, an initiative established by HRH the Prince of Wales to promote and celebrate sustainable living.

EWH was invited to represent energy efficiency in the historic built environment together with the Prince’s charities. HRH the Prince Charles concluded the three day event by visiting the stalls and talking to all participants.
