Edinburgh World Heritage - Planning

Planning

Through the World Heritage Site Management Plan, EWH has a role in helping to protect the city’s historic values. This can involve specialist research into aspects of its history, advising on planning policies and strategies, and monitoring the preservation of the built environment.

Paving Study

In collaboration with the City of Edinburgh Council, EWH commissioned a study of the surviving historic paving in the city centre.

Grassmarket

As a stakeholder in the recent regeneration project, EWH participated in community consultation and advised on design principles.

Princes Street

In collaboration with Malcolm Fraser Architects and Grit&Pearl consultants, EWH commissioned a proposal for the re-use of vacant upper floor space on Princes Street.

Historic Street Lighting

Edinburgh World Heritage works with the City of Edinburgh Council to conserve and reinstate original street lighting.

Planning Projects 2010 - Interns

EWH works in collaboration with students studying World Heritage Management at BTU Cottbus.
