SATURN - European Standards for Vocational Training in Urban Regeneration
SATURN is a project funded through the Leonardo da Vinci fund coordinated by Edinburgh World Heritage in partnership of Warsaw School of Economics and CEIT Alanova. We have a number of silent partners and the key one is IURS – Institut pro udržitelný rozvoj sídel o.s. from Czech Republic.
The main objective of the project is the development of standards of vocational training in integrated urban regeneration. The project aims to provide a basis for thinking about urban regeneration and therefore the partnership involves academics and practitioners. This will be achieved through the delivery of a set of specialised manuals covering conservation-led urban regeneration, modern GIS applications in urban regeneration and education in the area of urban revitalisation.
It is an important project for EWH as it is the very first collaboration with European Union support. The outcomes of this project will be crucial for the development of a range of programmes, which we are currently developing with our stakeholders, both at the local and international level. Project dissemination will be a critical stage of its management. Each partner ensures that its stakeholders are involved and aware of SATURN's potential.
The SATURN framework and methodology are designed to expand the scope of the project and the partnership in the future. The partnership is currently seeking appropriate funding to achieve this.
